Mom and Princess Rowan putting together a puzzle |
Mom turned 75 last July. I asked her what she wanted for a party and she said another girl's weekend like I had for my 50th. Due to scheduling difficulties of 7 busy women and one retired birthday girl we just now are getting together this weekend! The party is on! We loved when we got together before for my birthday . We laughed, cried and shared.
Whenever we need all the guest rooms. My daughter Ashley and I go into folding mode in the room where all the quilts are stacked. I am so glad that a bunch of quilts are traveling around in trunk shows or there would be more folding!!! No one is ever going to be cold in the home of a quilter!
In honor of St. Patrick's Day coming up we are giving away a kit and pattern to make this small wall-hanging next Friday. Remember "Pat" in the old Saturday Night Live" episodes. That's what I think when I look at this character that I designed. Is it a she....or a he????? Tell me something green that you own that you really like a lot, and then post to this entry before next Friday March 16th to be entered in the giveaway. Spinach would not be a thing I would write about!!!
Have a great week! Amy
My favorite green things are the little rubber boots that my son wears in the mud. They are so cute. They look like little dragons. Thanks for the chance to win. Have a great time on your girls' getaway!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite green thing that I own is my car, because it takes me to quilt shops, quilt workshops, quilt bees...you get the picture? Thanks for the chance to win this adorable kit and pattern!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite green thing is my kitties eyes, although I wouldn't want them without the rest of the cat. (oooh). They are like emeralds floating on a sea of cinnamon sugar.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite green things right now are the daffodils coming up in my yard. It's so nice to see a little spot of green after looking at snow for months!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite "Green" things aren't really green and aren't really things but "who"...they are my twin daughters that were born on St. Patricks day in 2000!
ReplyDeletemy favorite green thing....i have a pair of cowboy boots with lime green uppers that i love...cause i'm the only one who knows they're green up under my jeans :)hey that rhymes
ReplyDeleteMy favourite green thing is my laptop!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite green thing is an old - really old pr of pants with really stretched out elastic. I wear them, wash them, wear them etc.
ReplyDeleteCute, cute pattern! My favorite green thing (right now....it changes often) is a purple and green stuffed dragon. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite green thing is the little garden gloves my DGD wears when "helping" in the garden. When I launder them they give me happy thoughts as well as when she is here using them.
ReplyDeleteI love everything green but mostly my St. Patrick decor items - am an Irish gal!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite green things are my quilting gloves. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI have a pair of garden gloves that are green but I use them to machine quilt.Such a cute pattern. Happy Birthday to your Mom and have a fun get together.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite green thing is my cardigan sweater. I really like green, but discovered when trying to answer this question that I don't really own that many things that are just green!
ReplyDeleteHope you and your mom have a great weekend.
I'd have to say that my favorite green thing is a serving plate that was my Grandmothers'. It's a very old glass plate possibly from the depression era. It's a gorgeous plate.
ReplyDeleteAnd this little quilt would be perfect for a friend of mine. She cherishes her Irish heritage and needs some cheering up right now. I'm not sure I have anywhere near the quilting skills you have (actually I KNOW I don't LOL) but I could give this a shot for sure. My friend is a runner and has had some big health problems that are really depressing her right now because she is not allowed to run at all. I personally do not understand running but she lives to run every single day so this I know would cheer her up given the adorable face and those shamrocks around her neck. Thank you for the chance to win this.
My favorite green thing is an Emerald ring I wear everyday. I bought this as my "souvenir" while in the Bahamas in 1993- using some $$ I received after my father died. My family is Scotch-Irish so I felt this appropriate to use some of my inheritance on. lol Thanks for the chance to win this kit- it so Cute.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite color is green, so I have MANY green things, but my favorite has to be my green flower dress. So cute but so sexy all in one. That dress has accompanied me to many events. Oh if that dress could talk!!
ReplyDeleteHave a blast this weekend & Happy St. Patricks Day!
My favorite green thing is a tiny Cabbage Patch head on cabbage leaves. It's an original Xavier Roberts that I purchased 30 years ago. It only comes out on St. Patricks Day.
ReplyDeleteStill laughing about "Pat". I remember that.
ReplyDeleteFav green thing is my very ugly green cookie jar. The lid handle is a chicken head. Have no idea what the designer was thinking.
My favorite green things are a ridiculous pair of boxer shorts my husband bought 10 years ago for St. Pattys Day that he wears every year along with his shamrock socks. I love a good belly laugh and that does it every year! Soooo funny, he thinks he is adorable!
ReplyDeleteOh green is one of my favorite colors...I have 2 favorites and that would be a pair of garden crocks that I love and then I visited Savannah, GA a few years back for st. paddy's day and they turn there whole town green for the day so what I try to do is make anything I cook that day green and it just makes it so festive....thanks for asking and would love to win her.

ReplyDeleteI LOVED your reference to the "Pat' on Saturday Night Live. That is so funny! MY Birthday is tomorrow (the 19th) so while I was growing up Mom always decorated the house in Green and said I was her lucky baby. She passed in 2007 & I'll be a stout 52 tomorrow but when I see any St Patricks Day decoration I think to myself...I was Moms lucky girl. :) Nice memories. You are so gifted and have so many designs that I like. We must be kindred spirits. In honor of St. Patrick's Day and 'Pat', I'll tell you little joke. How do ye borrow some money from a leprechaun? Why you can't because the little fella is always a wee bit shart! (spelling intended)Happy day. And thanks for the smile. Sandi D
