I wanted to share a quilt made by Lori using my Happy Howlidays fabric. Lori is a veterinarian (just like my husband). Here is Lori's blog: http://quiltingunleashed. wordpress.com
I love how crisp and clean it looks with the white. It makes me want to go get into my stash and make one! The Happy Howlidays fabric came out in winter of 2008. What a cool way to use fabric from your stash.
Please keep emailing me photos of your finished quilts, it really makes me happy! In honor of Lori's quilt, I'm going to give-a-way a stack of Happy Howlidays fat quarters. I will choose one person at random from anyone who posts to this entry about fabric stashes or ufo's or anything you want to share. We will pick next Friday March 2nd. We are going to try to do a give-a-way every Friday for the rest of this year so keep checking back. Thanks to everyone for reading and happy quilting! Amy
Oh my - I have very little fabric stash - I need more !!!! I I have started a hexagon quilt - but it will be awhile before i finish ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the wonderful giveaway !!
I just love the simplicity of a 4-patch - cuddly, cozy, comforting. Well done. My stash consists primarily of scraps - the bits that others want to toss. Thank you for the give away.
ReplyDeleteI've found that no matter how much stash I have, I never seem to have enough! I'm always finding fabrics that just beg to be allowed to come home and play with the others. These Happy Howlidays would really enjoy playing with all my cat fabrics I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteI had to leave my stash behind a few years ago. My favorite unused pieces in it were a William Morris reproduction print of potted orange trees and a Very Hungry Caterpillar quilt top kit. Saved my daughter's Snugly Bugly quilt, though!
ReplyDeleteI have a split personality when it comes to stash - half is dark, more primitive stuff (Kansas Troubles, Civil War reproductions, Brannock and Patek, etc.), and the other half is brights like the ones you show here. I've really been enjoying making some bright quilts. I love making I Spy quilts with the brights! Thanks for the giveaway chance.
ReplyDeleteI have a medium sized stash, at least compared to some I've seen! I also have way too many UFO's ... trying to work on some of them this year. I love the bright colors in your Happy Howlidays fabric. Thanks for the chance to win some of it!
ReplyDeleteI have a 'medium' stash too but myhusband is quite okay with it. I am trying to finish a Christmas quilt I started in 2009. I only have to quilt and bind... am making my third attempt to quilt it now.
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking about you and your fabrics today. Made a pillowcase from Alien Invasion. You're drawings make me happy! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Happy quilt. I just finished two quilts one for my grandson and one for my daughter so I am happy. Love to win the fabric
ReplyDeleteI love the quilt! I'm working on a 9-patch with appliqued dogs on it for our church quilt ministry. It's pinned - I just need to quilt it. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI love the fabric! The quilt Lori made is wonderful. I am just getting in to quilting this year so my stash is not all that large but I hope to finish some quilt tops this week while on a 3 day sewing retreat.
ReplyDeleteI love the quilt Lori made. My stash is very disorganized right now but I'm working on getting it in some sort of order.
ReplyDeleteWow. Bright colors. Love it. Thanks for doing this. I'm in spring cleaning mode and my stash is part of this years big project. How did I get so much. Ugh. Actually I have gotten through a few new things and completed a few UFOs so far so it's moving along. :)
ReplyDeletehi Amy well let her know the quilt is striking.....I love it...she has to continue,,,love to make one
ReplyDeletePlease tell Lori I tried to comment...4x it would not let me.....lol
ReplyDeleteThe quilt is definitely a happy one! My stash is ever changing...a little bit of everything. I always seem to need a little more when I get ready to start a new project. Your fabric giveaway is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI'm in the process of starting to reorganize my stash. I really need to make a list of my UFO's so I can work on each one. This is a finishing year, but I want to start a new project so badly!
ReplyDeleteFabric has gotten so expensive I have decided I will use up my stash. It's amazing what I have been creating from what I have. Lots of lap quilts. I found so much I forgot about so I am creating away and having fun as I go along.
ReplyDeleteI just love your fabric line....so cute! I'm like so many of the others, always trying to use up my stash but always finding such amazing new fabric designs that's hard to resist buying. I keep getting more, but try to encorporate what I have also. It's a good problem, right! Thanks for the opportunity to win more fabric! Yippee!
ReplyDeleteOK so I have a little stash but it always seems to be lacking that perfect piece of fabric I need!
ReplyDeleteBTW my husband is a veterinary surgeon too!
With all the fancy blocks and such out there to choose from, it always makes my heart happy just to see how lovely squares and rectangles can make a quilt look. I have completed two UFO's so far that were taken entirely from my stash - woohoo!
ReplyDeleteLove this quilt! It's my favorite one of all that my friend, Lori, has made! I just asked her about the quilting technique she used and had planned to make one, too. I'm a newbie to quilting but this one has me all fired up! I have a small amount of stash compared to most quilters I'm sure. Fingers crossed that I win some fat quarters from Lori's favorite fabric designer.......and mine, too!
ReplyDeleteI have a very small stash so not worth talking about. I am doing a quilt for my sister in law for her birthday, an appliqued Christmas wall hanging, I'm making hexies out of my scraps and also have some stitchery. So I have a little of everything to keep me busy and happy!
ReplyDeleteI have a good sized stash but need these fabrics for a dog agility ribbon quilt for DH. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI don't have much of a stash because I am a new quilter. So I mostly have leftovers, but this would be a great quilt for my new GS!
ReplyDeleteLove the colors in this giveaway! I have a "reasonable" stash:) Of course, DH would say I have too much fabric. I try to purchase fabric for a specific project, but sometimes "the fabric" convinces me to buy it. We both win:)
ReplyDeleteLet's just say I have my share of stash and UFO's. I have been making an effort to finish up some projects that have been around a while. I actually have two that just need to binding sewn down by hand and have been inching along with them.
ReplyDeleteYesterday I finished up three small quilts for Quilts for Kids. Those fat quarters would be great for more of those. Thanks for a chance to win.
Thank you everyone for the very sweet comments :) I'm so glad you liked the quilt! I'm a huge Amy fan and this fabric line brings out the inner hoarder in me, lol!
ReplyDeleteLori's quilt is very pretty. I like the bright colors and simple, eye-catching design.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a fabric stash - it's a significantly large collection...and I may have the same problem Amy does with multiples.
I love the quilt!
ReplyDeleteI have a stashette, just a few shoebox size containers holding fat
quarters, and maybe 3 or 4 yards total of yardage for quilting, plus some assorted non-quilting fabric left over from Halloween costumes, etc. (I don't really count this as part of my stash)
Great quilt! I have a fairly small stash since I have been quilting for less than a year. Im planning a quilt for my sister in law and Im sure Ill be adding to my stash soon!
ReplyDeleteOh she did a fabulous job on that quilt. I love how 'clean' the white fabric looks against those great colorful fabric.
ReplyDeleteHappy Howlidays is such an adorable fabric line. I've had that one on my wish list since first seeing it. I just love it.
I've got a great fabric stash BUT, not a great stash for making quilts. I'm totally lacking quilting fabric. Most of my fabrics are flannels and different colored duck fabrics for making totes. I have two new Grandchildren born in the past five months; one five months old now and the other just two weeks ago. I'm in Grandma heaven and need to get some quilts and burp cloths, bibs, and receiving blankets and other goodies for them very soon.
I sure hope this is my lucky day! Well I think it already is....I just came across your blog by looking at quilts through flickr and was looking at the quilt you are showcasing in your post. And now I find out about the giveaway! Your fabric is sp incrediby fun! I love it! (and am now a new follower) :o)
