New Pattern Hot Off The Press!!!!

There is nothing more fun then getting our new pattern back from the printer!  Days of drawing, computer, sewing, proofing, proofing, proofing, are all behind us.  It is a triple wingding, hullabaloo day of merrymaking around here for my daughter Ashley and I!!!!  Bring out the chocolate, throw out the left-overs and let's go out to celebrate!

So here it is......Dog and Cats in sweaters....Boy Dogs...Girl Dogs...Boy Cats...Girl Cats...

Make the sweaters bright and bold or light and sweet or even use your favorite sports team fabric.  Take our design and make it your own and then send us photos because we LOVE getting photos!!!

It is one pattern that you can make two ways.  The pattern comes with full size patterns, full size
placement sheets, and instructions for a 46 ½” x 57 ½” quilt.

Sometimes things don't always go as planned around here.  Here is a photo of my fancy photography studio.   I love to precariously perch myself on top of a ladder and hang over as far as I can to get the center of the quilt.  I like to do this without snow drifts, jumping over mud puddles, gusting wind and preferably on a sunny day when the sun is directly overhead.  None of this happened on this particular day.  I had to scrap this shoot for a nicer sunnier day which have been far and few between in Kansas this winter.

There is one distraction to our business that I absolutely love...the twins Nate and Norah!  I don't know how my daughter Ashley gets anything done because Grandma just wants to play.

They will be one in April.

I hope you like the new design!  Enjoy the last of February because here comes March.

Pilot Antique Sale

Twice a year I go to the Pilot Antique sale here in Lawrence.  I arrive when the doors open ready to find treasures.  I get antiques and my husband gets homemade pie that they sell at their concession stand. One booth had a lot of holiday antiques.  I love decorating with old decorations for the holidays.  They are hard to find!

I squealed when I saw this small 4" Valentine box.  I look and look for these and you don't find very many.  I added this one to my other two small boxes.

I Loved this 1950's old plastic Easter rabbit.  I will stick some candy out of the egg at Easter time.

I bought this little framed print of the American Flag for $12.00.  In July, I will set it out with my little Uncle Sam that was made in occupied Japan and my two old glass bells.  One bell is a bank and one had Liberty maraschino cherries in it.

Remember these old pins that you would fold over the little tab and wear on your lapel or pocket.

I laughed when I saw the name of these pins below!

I couldn't resist this little hard rubber truck on the right to go with my other two small red trucks.

This was my big purchase at the show.  I love it...and I can store lots of clutter inside.  Not that this collector has any clutter or anything....

I am so excited to tell you that my new pattern is at the printer right now.  The next blog will be all about my new design.  I can't wait to show you!!!!!  Have a great week and keep warm!  Amy

February Update

Dawn Hamman  sent this photo of her quilt that she is entering in a multi-technique category.  She used my "Meet the Tweets" pattern and added pieced bird house blocks and her own wonderful creativity!!!  Didn't it turn out cute?  She did such a great job on color and fabric choices.  You get a gold star from me Dawn!

Yesterday my day didn't start out the way I wanted.  I got stuck in the snow!  I couldn't turn around in the plowed path to the barn so I had to go in reverse.  I have enough problems driving in snow in forward much less reverse!!!

It had melted quite a bit when I took this photo.  Hopefully tomorrow I can just drive it out.

The day ended great though.  I got to spend time with my three grandchildren and I got to go to the musical "Bring It On" with my daughter Ashley.

My granddaughter Rowan loves her dolls.
A couple weeks ago in Topeka I stopped in a antique store and found some fun things.

A new pin cushion for my collection.

We raise Hereford cattle so I couldn't resist this Fisher Price "Bossy Bell" toy.

I laughed when I saw this old skate key.  Young kids wouldn't know what these are but big "OLD" kids like me had these for our roller skates.

I got a brand new pair of roller skates,
You got a brand new key.
I think that we should get together and try them out, to see ...the  pop song by Melanie

Have a great Valentines Day!  Amy

Brrrrrrrr

This is the view out my back door.  I ventured a total of 2 feet to take this photo.  It is 7 degrees right now and I am staying hunkered down at home along with most of the country.  This is a perfect quilting and baking day!
